EXCLUSIVE: Harshvardhan Rane REACTS to Sanam Teri Kasam earning more than Loveyapa & Badass Ravi Kumar combined at the box office during its re-release

Harshavardhan Rane is on cloud 9 as his 2016 film Sanam Teri Kasam is breaking box office records upon its re-release. The Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru directorial – which earned a mere Rs 9 crore during its initial box office run, has now amassed a whopping Rs 18.50 crore. During an exclusive telephonic conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Harsh got candid about many things, including how he bagged the role of Inder Lal Parihaar, the film’s astonishing BO success and more.

When asked about how he feels about Sanam Teri Kasam earning more than the combined box office collections of last week’s new releases – Loveyapa and Badass Ravi Kumar, Harshvardhan Rane said, “I think it’s the very basic nature of human beings to connect with a very old friend much more than making new friends. You realize you are still very thick with your older friends than your current office colleagues. These office colleagues eventually become your old friends, and then that, in comparison, will be a more stronger bond than your new friends in the future.”

Harshvardhan Rane continued, “I feel we as human beings are slaves of familiarity, and we feel more safe, the connect deepens, and the bond deepens more with time. Be it with our parents or be it with our friends, even though we have had a miscommunication or we have not spoken, if we meet after nine years and if we actually like each other, we would still laugh and start partying and enjoying with the same friend even after nine years. So, I see it (Sanam Teri Kasam earning more than Loveyapa and Badass Ravi Kumar at the box office) as that phenomenon where you are reconnecting with someone with whom you had a miscommunication nine years ago.”
